HEER'S POV:

The dining room was filled with a comfortable silence as all of us sat around the table quietly engrossed in our breakfast

I sat beside the head chair, beside Singh Saab. Today I sat here myself because yesterday I had seen everyone's reactions when he had left his seat and sat beside me

In that moment I knew that Singh Saab has never sat anywhere except the head chair and yet he sat beside me without any hesitation

If he wanted to sit beside me, he could've asked me to shift beside him but he chose to adjust himself, I felt a flutter in my stomach over that gesture of his

For Reva it would be only a bare minimum but for me it was his efforts

I still feel the warmth of his hand beneath mine from yesterday, I had gathered all my courage and made that move because I wanted him to know that I was trying, that his efforts were seen

And I can't forget that moment, no matter how much I try.

I was having the breakfast quietly focusing on the meal while lost in my thoughts when Saket spoke up taking everyone's attention

"Ma, I, Chhavi and Smita di were thinking that as we are free these days then why not join Bhaiya bhabhi to the village"

Smita, Chaya and Saket looked at Chachi ji with hopeful eyes who sighed before looking down at her meal as she murmured softly

"Ask Vedh"

That's it.

And their faces fell, like losing their hope of going to the village. Everyone present in the hall were now looking at the trio except Singh Saab

He had heard it, I knew but he didn't react just kept eating. I glanced at him before looking towards the trio again

Just then all three of them turned to me with the same hope in their eyes, they were blinking at me like small children glancing between me and Singh Saab

I rose my brows softly asking them what do they want from me only for Smita to tilt her head towards Singh Saab

I inhaled a sharp breath, I knew what they were asking me to do, they wanted me to ask Singh Saab but they didn't know that I was also as intimidated by him as they were

My lips pressed together as I closed my eyes, before turning to Singh Saab who has still not looked up from his food

I gulped, gathering my voice before speaking softly

"C..can they go?"

That's all I could ask before my voice disappeared in the well of my nervousness and that's when Singh Saab looked up

This time I didn't look away when our eyes met, I tried to keep looking and I even saw a hint of amusement passing through his orbs

I gulped nervously looking at him with hopeful eyes but what if he still denied, Chaya, Saket and Smita so wanted to go

"Fine, you can join us"

After a moment, Singh Saab sighed keeping his spoon on the plate and said to his cousins making me blink at him in disbelief

Like he really agreed.

Then he took out his wallet and opening it, he slipped a card out which seemed quiet expensive, keeping it on the table he slid it towards me

For a moment I couldn't process why he did that before he left the dining hall. The second Singh Saab left the trio pounced on me

"YAYYYYYYYY"

Their loud, excited voices ringing in my ears as I looked towards them only to see them running towards me with happy faces

"Bhabhi you did it, now we will visit the village together"

I smiled as they hugged me, each from one side while I was still thinking why Singh Saab gave me his card

Then it hit me, he was leaving for his office and I had to return this card. As Smita, Chaya and Saket backed away from the hug and got indulged in a conversation with Reva I stood up and ran towards the door

There he stood, back facing me I slowed down seeing him before walking to him, I wanted to call out but for a moment I hesitated

"Su..suniye"

("Li..listen")

My voice was low, extremely low and I knew it but I also knew that he had heard it because then he turned around

His gaze bore into me while I lowered mine and he whispered softly, not like the one he had spoken back in the dining room

"Sunaiye"

("Speak")

I swallowed softly before forwarding his card, quietly giving it back to him a silent gesture that said that I didn't need it

He didn't make any movement to take the card from me instead he stepped forward, his shoes came in view as I was staring at floor

I stepped back a little only to see him stop, Singh Saab's fingers reached out and he tilted my chin up

Not forcing but holding.

I then looked up and saw his calm expressions, he then cupped my cheek softly like afraid of breaking something

I only blinked.

"This is for you if you want any things for our visit to the village. Don't think much just buy it"

His voice was deep, low, husky yet soothing as he whispered

I nodded softly only to see him smile softly and he gave one last caress on my cheek before turning around abruptly and leave

I was taken aback by how calmly he spoke now, so softly while I still remember the man who had entered the wedding venue with a gun in his hand

But the man who stood before me just now was not the same, he was different. He was the man who agreed to kneel before bhai just to get back to me

And I admired that man without even glancing at him.

A soft smile tugged at my lips without even meaning to as I just stared in the direction Singh Saab just went

I sighed softly before turning back to go back to the dining room where the group would still be there

Walking into the room I smiled seeing all four of them still sitting around planning something about the trip to village

Shaking my head softly my gaze landed on the card in my hand and an idea crossed my mind, I won't spend this much and they all might also need something

"Let's go to shopping?"

My tone was questioning as I asked with wide eyes hoping everyone would agree, there was silence for a moment and I blinked half expecting them to refuse the offer but then

"Yayyyyy"

The noise erupted almost instantly, immediately making me smile widely

How can I expect this group to deny shopping?

"Aaj ka toh din hi accha hai"

("It's a good day today")

Chaya said smiling in excitement, her eyes glistening with the plans she has already made up in her mind while others were smiling as well when Saket commented from the other side

"Arre Heer bhabhi aa gayin hain, ab toh har din accha hoga"

("Arre Heer bhabhi is here so now every day is going to be good")

I chuckled softly at the comment, slightly catching where it directed but decided not to say anything when Reva said

"Okay now go to your rooms all of you, we will leave after lunch"

That's it, as soon as Reva said those words the group didn't wait for even a second and ran away towards their rooms without a word

I could only laugh seeing them run away like that in excitement, then I turned towards Reva who was looking at me softly

I know what she was thinking, she adoring the smile on my face, the smile she had not seen in past months

My eyes softened looking at her before I realized that there were tears filling my eyes, looking away immediately I wiped the corner of my eyes

Reva looked away too before she patted my shoulder softly and left to get ready herself, I also turned away and retreated to our room

As Reva stepped in her bedroom, her feet paused and lips turned into a soft pout as she scratched her head in confusion

Then waving her hand in the air like dismissing something she opened her phone and called someone

The call connected within seconds and from other side Aashrit asked before Reva could say something

"Yes baby?"

His tone was soft, voice slightly husky as he spoke making a soft hue appear on Reva's cheeks. She looked down for a moment smiling softly

"Umm actually I was going to shopping with Heer and.....and..."

She paused, hesitation lingering in her voice clearly trying really hard to ask him, sensing her hesitation Aashrit completed her sentence

"And you don't want Vedh to spend for you"

He wasn't asking, he knew it and he was just stating it like a fact. He had seen Reva hesitate before while using his money and even today she does

Reva blinked softly before sighing, only for Aashrit to hear it on the other side. Reva didn't need to say anything else, Aashrit understood it even before she spoke it out

"Fine I am sending my card, you'll get it at the mall"

Reva's smile widened as she looked down thinking how much her husband knows her before whispering softly

"Thank you"

"You don't have to thank me for fulfilling my responsibility rather I have to thank you for marrying me and now loving me"

Aashrit didn't cut her off, he just softly corrected her, genuinely.

After a few hours they all had lunch with some chatter here and there before Reva announced that they were leaving in half an hour and everyone ran to there rooms to get ready

Heer stepped out of her room wearing a soft white suit with sweetheart neckline and golden outlining, her hair free in the air like planning on giving heart attacks to the admirers

Her eternal beauty shined in the white kurti paired with white embroidered juttis and small white studs completing the look

She was walking towards the staircase when Sudha ji appeared in the hallway smiling softly looking at Heer

Heer reciprocated the smile stopping in her tracks, Sudha ji reached her and softly spoke

"You look beautiful"

Heer's smile widened and she just looked down shyly before Sudha ji told her

"Heer actually ma ji doesn't like the daughter in laws wearing suits and there is Vedh's elder sister in law's baby shower so....I hope you understand"

Sudha ji hesitated while speaking for a bit thinking whether Heer would understand or not, though she knew Heer is a very mature and calm girl but still considering she is a modern woman, Sudha ji hesitated

Heer smiled softly clearly understanding what Sudha ji was trying to say and why she was hesitating

"Yes I understand Chachi ji, I will pack saris"

Heer assured Sudha ji who smiled in relief before caressing her cheek softly and she left leaving Heer standing there

Heer walked out of the mansion only to see the group already standing in stylish fits and sunglasses on

Smita and Saket were bickering over who will drive the car while Chhavi stood beside Reva whispering something looking at the drama and Reva only shook her head

As Heer reached them she heard the conversation clearer

Smita whined like a child "I don't want to drive today"

Saket sighed with a so done look before his eyes fell on Heer and he said

"Fine I will drive but only on one condition"

Everyone frowned including Heer, even Reva straightened to hear the 'condition'. Smita gestured him continue

"I will drive only if Heer bhabhi sits beside me"

Everyone chuckled at his condition while Reva smacked his head playfully and Heer gave a helpless smile

Before she nodded in agreement and moved to the front seat, Saket opened the door for her and shaking her head Heer sat down clasping the seat belt

Playing the songs and vibing to them the group reached the mall soon without minding the time taken by the route

The mall buzzed with the activity as the crowd rushed here and there into different shops, as soon as all of them entered the mall they saw Aashrit leaning against a large pillar

He was standing casually engrossed in his phone when suddenly he felt Reva's presence only to look up at her

Reva was shocked seeing Aashrit because he had told her that he was sending his card not coming himself and yet here he was

Reva smiled widely before rushing to Aashrit and she asked in pure excitement

"What are you doing here Aashrit?"

Her shock, excitement, amusement and happiness was all visible in that one sentence and it made Aashrit smile widely

"I completed the work early and came here straight...."

Saying this Aashrit paused for a second before glancing at the trio along with Heer standing behind her and he leaned down near her ear, whispering

"Because I couldn't bear one more second without my wife"

That made Reva flustered for a moment before she composed herself clearing her throat stepping back a little aware of the presence behind her

While behind her Heer and others who understood why Reva was blushing were looking here and there trying to hide their smiles

Aashrit straightened looking towards the whole group now before he looked at Heer with soft expressions and said

"Bhabhi Vedh will be here in an hour"

Heer who was smiling freely till now suddenly straightened with wide eyes becoming too aware of herself

Aashrit tried to control his laugh at how Heer reacted to Vedh's arrival and gave a short nod confirming the information

Everyone in the house has seen Heer avoiding Vedh's gaze and how she stays when he is around, like a little cat intimidated from a lion

They knew she was afraid of Vedh but then they have also seen how much whipped Vedh is behind their bhabhi

Still all of them looked at Heer with playful pity in their eyes before Reva cut off the tension, snapping Heer out of her thoughts

"Okay but at least go shop something before Jiju arrives"

Heer flinched slightly, taken aback with the sudden voice and she nodded walking along with the rest of the group

As all of them walked Heer slightly nudged Reva who was walking beside her leaning slightly towards her who leaned in to listen

"Let's go buy saris, chachi ji said dadi ji prefers saris and I don't have many of them"

Reva looked at Heer for a moment before she nodded in understanding as she herself didn't have much saris

Reva whispered the same thing to Aashrit who nodded slightly before they all walked to a luxurious showroom

"Okay first we will buy saris for your bhabhis then we will shop another thing"

Aashrit said looking at the younger trio who just nodded with eager smiles without a single word of argument

Entering the store, the owner welcomed them all with bright smile and proper professionalism as all of them settled inside

Almost an hour later Reva had selected a lot of saris with the help of Aashrit but Heer couldn't, for some reasons she wanted to know Vedh's choice

She wanted him to be present by her side.

So Heer couldn't select a single sari even when Smita, Chhavi and Reva tried to help her, she just shook her head saying she is not sure

Even Aashrit and Saket tried to help with warm smiles but Heer only seemed confused and hesitated

"Heer maine hun ik jhapad dena ae tere muh teh je ikk hor vari mundi hilati tu"

("Heer now I will give you a slap on your face if you shook your head once more")

Reva furiously spat at Heer in punjabi after being irritated from the shake of her head in last one hour

Reva knew what was going on in Heer's mind, she knew the moment she saw Heer looking at her and Aashrit discussing the saris

Heer pouted softly seeing Reva so angry while Smita & Chhavi stood shocked and Saket tried to hide his giggle whereas Aashrit stood with wide eyes trying to hold onto an angry Reva

Seeing Heer's pout Reva sighed before turning to Aashrit with the same anger and asked

"Jiju kinni derch awange?"

("How much time will jiju take in arriving?")

Aashrit seemed taken aback by the sudden outburst and he gulped before he opened his mouth to speak only to fumble looking into her furious eyes

"I...I..that..he...I...Vedh..is-"

But before Aashrit could form a proper sentence, another voice came from behind deep yet casual

"What is happening here?"

That was Vedh.

Every eye turned to him at the same moment as he inspected the scene in front, Chhavi Smita and Saket standing together looking at him with wide eyes

Aashrit half turned also looking at him with wide eyes, in front of him stood Reva glaring at him visibly furious and behind her Heer peeking slightly at him

He rose his brow looking at all of them but they all knew that now the bomb aka Reva will blast over his head and that's what happened

Because the next moment Reva held Heer's wrist and pushing aside Aashrit walked straight to Vedh and pushed Heer forward who stumbled into Vedh's chest

Heer flinched slightly, her heart racing as Vedh held her closer immediately by the waist trying to ground her. He looked at Reva with questioning gaze

"Ae fado apni biwi te sanu baksho, hun puchlo ainu kedi sari chaidi ae. Assi tan tang aa liye pichle ik ghante ton"

("Hold your wife and have mercy on us, and ask her which sari she wants. We are done asking her from last one hour")

Vedh looked at Reva with brows raised in shock, he hadn't expected that Reva could get angry on Heer

Reva picked up all the saris she had selected and handed them to Aashrit before picking up her purse and walking towards the counter for billing blabbering under her breath

"She doesn't buy anything and won't even let us buy, let's go"

Everyone else followed Reva with teasing smiles, passing the couple a glance. As everyone went for the billing Vedh finally glanced at Heer standing close to his chest with a flustered face

He observed her for moment before he stepped back just a bit and asked

"Are you okay?"

Heer nodded softly not looking at him after the drama Reva just did and after how she stood close to his chest for last few minutes

"Okay let's see saris then?"

Heer again nodded softly before turning back towards the staff who stood with an awkward smile glancing between the couple

Vedh glanced towards the billing counter once only to see Reva smirking at him and she tilted her head towards Heer

Vedh understood that it was all planned by Reva, he shook his head slightly before going to sit beside Heer

"Show"

Vedh said to the staff who nodded and started showing the saris, after a few minutes a saree caught Vedh's eye and he said

"Pearl see, I think this will look beautiful on you"

He didn't say it with excitement or loudly, instead he said it very softly in low voice like it was usual thing for him

Heer looked at the sari he held, it was beautiful, gracefully designed with soft golden embroidery and moreover it was chosen by him

She looked up at him with a genuine soft smile and nodded making Vedh smile as well before he kept the sari aside as chosen

Just like that after just half an hour, they had selected almost ten saris of Vedh's choice.

And they were now going to get the billing done, as the cashier packed the saris Heer slid the card to Vedh for payment but instead of taking it Vedh looked at Heer

Heer frowned that why Vedh is not taking the card and looked up only to see him staring at her with soft eyes and he whispered

"0701"

Heer's frown deepened for a moment before she realized that it was the pin that he was telling, the pin of his credit card

But why was he telling her?

"Pay Pearl they are waiting"

He again whispered leaning in a bit toward Heer who swallowed softly before paying the amount and again gave the card to Vedh, this time he took it with a small smile

They walked out of the showroom with Vedh holding the shopping bags and Heer walking beside him

"I didn't know that Reva gets angry at you also"

Vedh tried to ease the air between them and Heer glanced at him before she smiled softly and replied in soft voice

"She wasn't angry, she was just frustrated"

Vedh nodded with soft smile as Heer called the rest of the group and they told her that they were buying the footwear

The couple also walked into the showroom of footwear and just as they met with all of them, Smita dragged Heer with her to make her try a slipper

Meanwhile Vedh looked at Aashrit and Saket, Aashrit held Reva's shopping bags while Saket held his sisters' bags with an irritated look

Aashrit and Vedh looked at Saket and chuckled together making Saket more irritated, he whined looking at Chhavi and Smita

"When will I shop if I keep holding your bags?"

Chhavi glanced over her shoulder with a straight face and giving side eye to Saket she said

"Shop for yourself online"

There was not even an ounce of expressions on her face as she spoke, like a boss at which Saket gasped dramatically with his jaw falling

While Aashrit and Vedh couldn't hold themselves from laughing out loudly seeing their brother getting treated like a server by their baby sister

Aashrit clutched onto Vedh's shoulder as he laughed his heart out while Chhavi didn't even pay attention, she just shrugged casually and moved to another section

The two men laughed at their younger brother's face whole heartily while Saket looked at them with deadpan expressions

In that moment no one could tell who is the elder brother and who is the younger one, even Saket forgot that this was the same Vedh he was fearing to ask to join on the trip in the morning

After a few minutes, they all composed themselves and walked towards the women. Saket again started whining with Chhavi and Smita with annoyed expressions while Aashrit got busy helping Reva in choosing a few heels when Vedh noticed Heer

She was struggling with the strap of a heel trying to try it on while fumbling with her dupatta, though she was having problem she did not ask anyone for help

Sighing with a soft smile Vedh walked to her and knelt before her without a second thought to help her with the footwear

Heer immediately straightened with shocked expressions and wide eyes looking at Vedh who was focused on the strap, tying it perfectly

Then Vedh looked up at Heer who was looking at him in utter shock because this was the same man the whole world fear

The man even his own cousins fear and here he was kneeling before his wife without hesitation, without caring about his image in public

Vedh smiled giving a small playful nudge to Heer's cheek with his knuckle like one does to kids, Heer's heart raced at the thought of Vedh seeing her as a child

She wanted to pout but then she looked at him softly and whispered

"I could do it"

Her voice was hesitant and lashes blinking like caught of guard by the sudden warmth of his gesture though she tried to hide the small smile tugging at her lips along with the soft pink hue of her cheeks

"But I wanted to"

Vedh replied casually with a soft shrug of his shoulders and a small lingering smile on his face making Heer turn her face away in shyness

"Ahm hm"

Their small moment broke with a teasing sound of throat clearing from behind, Heer stood up immediately taking off the heels while Vedh stood up slowly

"Bhabhi let's get these"

Chhavi said to Reva carrying all the footwear they all had just tried while Reva nodded with a smile before walking to the billing counter

They all walked to the billing counter with Heer and Vedh sharing shy glances.

After a few more hours the shopping was finally completed and now everyone's faces were tired but still glowing because of the shopping

The evening had faded into the darkness of night as it marked dinner time, without a word the group walked to the food court of the mall

Because they didn't have energy to drive to a fancy restaurant where they will have to wait for the food, they were too much hungry for that

Everyone settled on the wooden sofas of the food court before Aashrit asked what they wanted to eat and all men went to fetch the food

As Vedh walked towards the counter, Heer couldn't help but admire him with a small smile thinking about how he had sat on knees without a second thought for her

Seeing Heer gazing at Vedh with so much affection Reva smiled mischievously before leaning towards Heer and whispering

"I see the progress baby girl"

Heer, flinched by the sudden voice immediately looked away from Vedh and blinked at Reva before clearing her throat

Reva's smile softened "I am sorry for shouting at you"

Heer smiled widely, she knew very well that Reva will apologize and she wasn't even angry at Reva for shouting at her

"It's okay"

Reva smiled too before she asked

"Jiju must have been taken aback by the sudden outburst"

Heer chuckled too, eyes narrowing as she told her

"Yeah, he was asking that if you also shout at me"

Reva laughed softly before told the unexpected, something Heer didn't know

"Of course he did, after all I slapped him for you"

For a moment Heer smiled not able to process what Reva said but just as she did, her eyes widen in pure shock

"Wh..what? You slapped him?"

Reva's smile paused for a moment, she had thought Heer knew about it Vedh had mentioned it at the altar as well

But maybe she was wrong, maybe Heer hadn't known, maybe she didn't hear it properly or maybe because she was unconscious at that time

"Oh you didn't know"

Reva wasn't asking, she was wondering and Heer nodded before Reva's smile came back and she shrugged her shoulders sheepishly

Heer still taken aback by the new found information shook her head slightly before her eyes fell on Vedh coming with food trays along with Aashrit and Saket

Vedh settled down beside Heer sliding her plate towards her and Heer gave him a small grateful smile which was reciprocated by him

With the ongoing chatter the group had the dinner while laughing giggling and talking with each other spending a great time

After dinner all of them left for the mansion in different cars this time, Vedh and Heer in one car, Aashrit and Reva in one car and other three in one car

As the cars aligned drove through the highway towards the mansion there was a soft silence washed inside Vedh's car

Vedh sitting on the driving seat was enjoying the silence and the positive vibe of Heer while Heer couldn't stop thinking about what Reva had said to her a few hours ago

'..after all I slapped him for you'

She had confessed it so casually that Heer felt guilty of her action though she knew Reva doesn't fight physically until necessary but she had slapped her husband

After taking a deep breath, Heer gathered all her courage and called out softly

"Suniye"

("Listen")

Her voice was sweet, hesitant and yet soft like feather as she spoke looking at Vedh for a response who didn't react even for once

He had heard it, yes he did but he didn't speak. Then smoothly Vedh stopped the car at the side of the road and as their car was the last one no one noticed

Vedh closed his eyes for a moment as if it took him every ounce of his control in those few seconds he restrained himself from looking at her

"Kahiye"

("Please speak")

Then turning to a frozen Heer he said mimicking her tone, not teasing but just answering softly. Heer snapped out from her zone before she lowered her eyes and said softly, almost a whisper

"I am sorry"

Vedh didn't understand why was she was apologizing and frowned

"But why?"

Heer gulped blinking softly but not looking up at Vedh as she spoke

"For Reva's slap"

Her voice was even lower now but Vedh caught it and his expressions didn't change for a second before he chuckled catching Heer's attention who looked up at him immediately

"Why are you apologizing for it Pearl?"

He wanted to laugh out loud but he didn't because he knew that would make her embarrassed and he wanted to comfort her not make it awkward

Heer blinked but did not say anything when Vedh spoke again cupping her cheek with utter care

"Pearl first of all you don't have to apologize to me ever, even if you make a mistake and moreover I deserved that slap from Reva so I don't mind"

Heer's heart beat accelerated and a crimson hue covered her cheeks in the dark of night before she nodded softly, a small smile tugging at her lips

She wondered how this man could be so cold to the world and so soft to her, all the way to the mansion she couldn't stop admiring Vedh while he glanced at her time to time only to shy her away

After a few more minutes, they reached the mansion and Heer had just sat on the bed with a sigh as Vedh kept her shopping bags on the bed before settling on the couch himself when Reva suddenly entered the room without caring to knock

"Heer I completely forgot that we have to pack our stuff, can you please help me with the packing"

Heer's eyes widen as she slapped her own forehead remembering that she also has to pack her stuff and she immediately stood up

"I also forgot"

She whispered and before Reva could reply to that suddenly Chhavi entered whining like a small child with annoyed expressions

"Bhabhi....Please help me pack my stuff"

Both Heer and Reva looked at her and took her along inside Heer's wardrobe deciding that they would first pack Heer's stuff then Reva's and then Chhavi's

Vedh smiled while shaking his head as the women made their way to the walk in closet and behind them he also walked in to pack his own stuff

After almost forty minutes Heer's packing was done and keeping her suitcase aside, all three girls walked towards Reva's room

There Aashrit's packing was already done and he sat on the bed shirtless scrolling something on his phone but as soon as Reva, Chhavi and Heer walked in he looked up almost immediately

It was okay until Reva and Chhavi saw him like that but it was shameful if Heer saw him like that, she was his sister in law after all in both ways

"AAAAAAAAAAAA BHABHIIIIIIIIII"

His instincts kicked in and he shouted before running to put on a t shirt while Heer turned around immediately trying to stop herself from laugh out loud

Reva and Chhavi laughed openly seeing Aashrit running around in the search of t shirt and he sighed the moment the fabric was covering him

While Reva along with Heer and Chhavi walked to the closet giving a sassy side eye to Aashrit who just rolled his eyes

After another round of the same closet chaos, the girls finally moved to Chhavi's room and as Heer followed along she couldn't help but ask

"Where is Smita, Chaya? Is her packing done?"

Chhavi sighed before turning to Heer with those tired eyes and she replied

"Yeah bhabhi, she doesn't like taking help in packing so she did it by herself"

As she explained about Smita, Reva frowned before questioning

"And what about Saket?"
